Since 1967, The North Carolina lions have offered Camp Dogwood. The 56 acre facility, located on Lake Norman, host over 850 blind or visually impaired people from all over North Carolina with a week long summer vacation. Activities provided include Boating, Fishing, Swimming, Adaptive Water Sports, Arts and Crafts, and many other daily activities. camp_dogwood_boating
Accommodations include spacious, handicap accessible lodging, 3 meals per day, plus snacks, a library, and several large lounging areas.
The actual cost averages over $675.00 per camper, However, the charge for each camper is only $120.00 for the entire week. That charge is usually paid for by local lions clubs through sponsorships.
